Giant Floating Tilting Labyrinth Game Board

Stockton, California
Public Art

This is a very fun, creative art project that involves balance games. The first balance game that will be built on moneys raised, is a balance board, which is floating on water where two individuals balance on opposite sides of the board and try to knock a ball into holes. The board has a few holes on it and the rules are that the opponents are allowed to have contact with each other and not the ball. If more money is raised than what is needed for this game a second game will be built. This is a game of mini-golf or another idea with the same concept of floating on water. This is a fun way to let of some steam and the games will be at a free festival.

Openings

This feature length film in Boulder, Colorado takes a deep dive into the supernatural. Openings started out as a shorter feature but evolved into full-length. The creators are open to all sorts of spiritual encounters through all different threads of life in different encounters with other worldly beings. I normally wouldn’t give towards a project like this but I did this time.

Ground Station Calliope

This is a phenomenal project involving outer space. The goal is to promote a satellite called “Project Calliope.” This satellite is an instrument in space that picks up on sounds from outer space, these sounds are called sonification. Moneys raised on this project will help bridge the gap between the sounds from outer space and musicians on earth to create music tracks. The satellite has a life of 10 to 12 weeks, just like most of my diets. This is possibly one of the most different art projects I’ve ever seen.

Fish Bridge

This project is about the art of printmaking. This art form, which goes back to 1855, is a fine printmaking art called Gyotaku, and seeps into various areas including anything from fine art publications and books to child crafts. The goal for this project is for the interested person to be able to travel to Japan and study this fine form of art under the instruction of a Japanese art master / mentor. I rarely give towards people traveling, but what the heck, if I can’t go, someone else should 🙂

The Apology Project

San Francisco, California
Dance

A lot of people in the world at large tend to apologize a lot for pretty much everything, I find myself apologizing for something everyday. Actually a taxi driver in Mississauga told me that in some Indian dialects the name Asif can be translated into “sorry”. Ffrom I’m sorry I stood you up, to I’m sorry I couldn’t make it on time, to several other sorry’s, The Apology Project builds on this concept. The film brings out contrasts between the light and dark sides of life intertwining with this main theme. When someone says they are sorry they experience different emotions such as guilt, shame and wanting desperately to be forgiven. This film is not for the faint of heart, it’s for those who really care about people and when someone says sorry a lot, part of you just wants to reach out to them and forgive them and wish they weren’t so hard on themselves. This is a dance-art project, for those of you who have danced with me, you know I can’t dance, but I can certainly give to someone who can 🙂

Temporary Shelter

This is a heart-wrenching project meant to provide further education about the many thousands of churches and synagogues that provide shelters to the homeless. This project will be a hut, that has in-scripted on the walls, stories of the homeless of New York city who have been saved by churches and local outreach ministries. The hut will be like a Sukkah which is a hut built for purposes in a Jewish week long celebration. The outside of the walls are going to be made from fiber pieces of material made by children in homeless shelters. On the roof there will be a list of names of homeless who lost their lives in a shelter environment. I’ve been reaching out to the homeless since 1998 as far as I can remember so this project touched my heart.

Perfect Citizen

This art exhibit features works such as a butter churner that is powered by a bicycle and a pinata cone. This art exhibit brings out the work of artists who like to invent and have an optimistic view on life as well. The artists pay attention to every small detail that make up a whole, whereas most of us usually miss such details of mechanics and operatives existing in our world.

New News is Old News

The work of 3 New York artists / curators will create art based on news, media and journalism for an upcoming exhibit, but not only that, the art world of New York will combine with the art world of Cyprus. Artists from New York will travel to Nicosia, Cyprus and the focus will be on politics and news, and new work will be created for another exhibition.

Memory Cave

Cleveland, Ohio
Sculpture

This art project is a cave of wonders. This project resembles a cave that will have different art pieces lining the walls, including pieces such as recycled items and clothing as well as fabrics. The goal is for the surroundings to be like they are naturally organic. This cave is to be symbolic of the place in one’s brain that hold’s memories. Some of one’s memories can be little treasures.
